Success is completely and always a matter of perspective, because success is relative. If not relative to your own performance, then to someone else’s. That’s how success works. If it wouldn’t we’d call the same phenomena “feeling good”, or “performance”.
Be aware of what you’re measuring, because that’s what you’re currently comparing your success to.
If we’d measure commercial success in the number of houses a company owns, we’d have to give the municipalities a lot more credit. If we’d measure the success of an employee based on how many people they unannounced asked “How are you?”, we’d get a pretty different result than if we’re looking at who’s climbing the company ladder. And so on.
Be attentive to what you’re measuring. Be aware of what the systems around you are measuring.
