Running has been therapeutic for me, as it has for a lot of other people.
When I tell people I'm a runner, the usual response is "Oh, running is so boring". Not always, but it's the most common response. And I agree, to a large extent. Running isn't exciting. It's monotonous and repetitive. It forces you to be alone with your thoughts.
For me, it's been an escape from my own head. When running, things slow down. I still think and process thoughts, but they seem to slow down substantially.
If you're curious about running, or want to try slowing time down for yourself, try this: run as slow as you can. So slow you feel ridiculous and silly. And then run as fast as you can. No need to run intervalls, you don't even need to try it at the same day.
