Passion seems to have ment two things: Either some sort of suffering or a strong desire to do something. I don’t think they’re mutually exclusive.

Passion, when used as an adverb to describe an action, is a combination of the two. It might not be a strong desire to something, but it is absolutely at times a way of bypassing suffering of the activity. Doing something with passion means deciding not to suffer from it.

In that sense, passion can be used as a tool to make activities that you don’t particularly like more bearable. Things like taking out the garbage, biking to work or walking your dogs don’t need to involve suffering if you choose not to suffer from them. Doing them passionately will undoubtably make them less suffocating.

That’s how it works when you do have a passion for something. The activities contributing to the greater picture might not be passions of yours, but because of your passion you don’t suffer from doing them.

Use passion to avoid suffering. By doing things passionately, you will suffer less.

What are you going to do passionately today?
