There’s just soooooo much opportunity at hand right now. Whatever we want to do, it’s pretty much doable with a bit of effort and some time. We can reach almost half of the population on this planet with our thumbs.
That’s kept me going for the past days. The gratitude of being able to live. Gratitude for being born in the wealthiest part of the world, at the best possible time to be alive. It’s just preposterous not to acknowledge that I’m better off then almost all of the people who’ve ever lived.
I caught myself having a conversation with a friend about this the other night. How many of our friends take things for granted, don’t really put in the work to put themselves in a position to succeed yet feeling entitled to succeed. How people around us in general seem to focus on what they don’t have. And we’ve got a bunch of people who’ve come here with nothing. With a wish to build a future, with ambition of building a life for themselves and their families.
Comfort is always going to lose. Always.
The difference between comfortable and grateful is that grateful doesn’t imply entitled. It doesn’t imply being at the end of the road. It’s movement forward, always keeping the past in mind.
Use gratitude instead of comfort.
