Meditation isn’t something that you do to calm your senses when you’re stressed out. It’s not something used as a tool to gain something. Meditation wasn’t created for you to use it to put inner fires out.

Meditation is a practice that you pic up because it’s work worth doing. It’s something that you continually need to do, because it’s worth the effort.

If you meditate in order to get some benefit, you might get it. Just as you might get some results if you run in order to be able to sit down and write longer. But when you meditate because it’s something that’s worth doing, you’ll gain even more.

There might be benefits to the practice. Just as there might be benefits to do work for a specific reason. At times, you’ll have inner fires that need putting out, and meditation might do just that.

When meditation becomes another tool, it’ll become a less worth practice. Just as anything else. Do it because it’s worth doing, and you’ll get all kinds of benefits from it.
