Habits are built over time. Some habits stick quicker, some take longer to establish. Some stay around for just a short period of time, and some for ages.

The habits you choose have to serve you. They have to accumulate, and the result should be something that you’d like to be able to do, say or manifest. They should build a version of you that you’d like to have around.

In that, there’s a fundamental truth about habits. They take time. They require patience. Habits aren’t a quick fix, ever.

That’s why they need to be firmly grounded in you. It’s no use saying “I’d like to run every day” if you’re not going to do it. Realise what the version of you that you want the habit to accumulate to. If you’d like to be able to run a marathon, you need to build a habit of running long and consistently for a very long time.

Some goals also require you to swap the habit out. If you want to be comfortable in your body, with the ability to move, start doing some burpees every day is a good start. But that exercise won’t give you a full body experience, and it might not serve you after some time.

Be aware of the habits that are building you, and how you want them to build you.
