Do what works.
One thing that I often tell people is to start with an egg. When you want to start something, a good habit or whatever, start out small. If you want to become more healthy, start by having an extra egg with your breakfast. Or to eat an egg for breakfast, if you don’t usually do so. Start small, to later expand.
That usually works for people. It usually gets people where they want to be in level of engagement towards their goal.
But.
Not for everybody.
I’ve recently started exercising pretty intensely compared to what I’ve been doing the past couple of years. What I’ve realised with myself ids that I can’t really start with an egg and take it from there. I need to go all in. I know this from other contexts. I need to dive, head first, in to whatever I take on.
Start with an egg. Or go all in. Or do something else. Do what works.
