Death to meed

And that’s a good thing.

Death to meetings.

Yes, meetings are important for most of us. It’s a quick and easy way to discuss things that need discussing, especially when you need to voice more than two or three peoples’ voices.

In most cases however, that’s not the case. In most cases a decision can be reached by just making it. In many cases, we voice far too many opinions on things that matter far too little. And in those cases meetings stand in the way of doing the work that matters. It’s simply not worth it to have a meeting about.

Now, we have a culture of having meetings which is built on the notion that everyone involved in a project needs to be involved in everything that’s happening in the project. But even in that case, a memo might be a lot more time effective. Or even a short slack message.
