Anxiety and future.
“Our anxiety doesn’t come from thinking about the future,
but from wanting to control it.”
— DRock
The past couple of months have been a constant thinking about the future for me. I’ve spent many hours thinking about what this autumn in India will bring. About what to do when I get back home. About what to go all in on.
I’ve read a million times that anxiety comes from that kind of thoughts. That thinking about the future is toxic and that I needs to stop it as soon as it happens.
Then I read the quote, and can relate so much. I haven’t felt that much anxiety about the future, but been pumped about the possibilities. Been pumped that there’s so much that can be done. Not once have I tried to control what’s going to happen, but tried to mentally open all of the doors possible for things to do.
Do think about the future. Visualise the things you’d like to do, feel them out. Ponder some. Daydream.
Then go do.
